In Google Talk Messenger select the status message option as current music track.
It supports both Winamp & Windows Media Player.
If the GTalk hangs in Windows 7, after selecting that you are not started GTalk as Administrator.
Right click the GTalk Icon on desktop and choose Run as Administrator.
If still not solved your problem,
In windows Media player go to Plug-in settings window
Tools > Plug-ins > Options
In the left pane select Background, in Plug-ins list you can see Google Talk, Enable this plug-in.
Now, you can view Gtalk status message appears as current music track in windows media player.
